The National Portrait Gallery

This site is a good reference tool for finding good images, both painting, sculpture, and photography, of people of historical interest in the United States. There are ongoing exhibits of portraits of presidents, historical documentation of American history and social history as well. The images give a good representation of what presidents and other historical figures acutally looked like, along with short citations of historical note.
